Charming Stay in Historic Shelbyville
Step back in time and enjoy comfort and elegance in a stately Southern home.

Step back in time and enjoy comfort and elegance in a stately Southern home.
Tanasi Manor was built in 1920 by Lem Motlow (nephew and heir of Jack Daniel and Jack Daniel's Distillery) for his attorney, Charles Greer. The stately home on Belmont Avenue was known at the time as "The Most Beautiful House in Shelbyville". With a total of 5026 square feet, the four square craftsman style home was built with the best materials and craftsmen of the era and still has all the original wood floors and working wall sconces. The sitting room still has the original mosaic tile floor. The large entry foyer is flanked by original beveled glass French doors and multiple crystal chandeliers adorn the main areas.
The current owners are continuing to lovingly restore this piece of Southern history and invite you to come experience the elegance of a time gone by. Have coffee in the light filled sitting room. Relax on the front terrace in a rocking chair or walk to the downtown Historic Shelbyville Square only 3 blocks away to shop or have a meal. The community of Shelbyville, TN is home of the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration, the Bedford County Fair and Uncle Nearest Distillery with their adjoining restaurant Humble Baron.
